SOLIDARITY SUNDAY: INTRODUCTION TO SASHIKO EMBROIDERY

This two-hour workshop offers an introduction to sashiko embroidery, a traditional Japanese technique based on the repetition of regular, decorative stitches. Following an introduction to the workshop and the materials, participants will learn the basic techniques and principles of sashiko stitching. They will then be guided through the embroidery process, exploring the concepts of rhythm, texture and expression through thread. Educational materials will be provided to offer technical and cultural insights.
