GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE
INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS AND RED CRESCENT MUSEUM
The English version of these General Terms and Conditions of Sale is a translation from the French. In the event of any discrepancies or contradictions with the original, the French version will prevail.
1. SCOPE
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (the “GTCS”) apply to all orders (the “Order” or “Orders”) placed on the website (the “Website”) of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum (the “Museum”) or, where applicable, by telephone or email, for:
admission tickets (e-tickets)
guided tours (provision of a guide)
events and workshops.
The Museum reserves the right to amend these GTCS at any time. The version of the GTCS in force when the Order is placed will apply.
Orders are processed subject to availability and to quotas allocated to each service. When you receive the item(s) purchased as part of the Order, you must check to ensure such item(s) correspond(s) to your Order.
By ticking the box “I have accept the General Terms and Conditions”, you declare that you unconditionally accept the GTCS, are at least 18 years old, and have the legal capacity or parental consent to place an Order.
2. PRICES
Prices are stated in Swiss francs (CHF) and include all taxes.
Orders are payable by bank card via the Museum’s secure online payment system.
3. ORDERS FOR ADMISSION, EVENT AND WORKSHOP TICKETS
When you place an Order for an admission ticket or for a workshop or event, you will receive an e-ticket via email. No tickets will be sent by post, and no invoices will be issued.
An e-ticket is only valid for the date indicated on the ticket. E-tickets cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded for any reason whatsoever.
An e-ticket is valid if it is displayed using a device such as a smartphone or tablet. E-tickets can also be printed; however, partially printed or illegible e-tickets will not be accepted and will be considered invalid.
Visitors who are entitled to a reduced admission price must be able to show proof of eligibility at the entrance. Anyone who presents invalid proof of eligibility will be denied admission.
4. BOOKING A GUIDED TOUR
Guided tours are limited to a maximum of 30 people.
Guided tour bookings must be made at least 14 working days prior to the date of the guided tour, using this form: https://shop.redcrossmuseum.ch/en-GB/guided-tour-reservation-form. Upon receipt of the completed form, the Museum will assign one or more volunteer guides according to availability. You will then receive written confirmation (via email), which will include details of the supplement(s) payable for the tour guide service. Such supplements are only payable once the Museum has sent confirmation. Payment must be received before the guided tour starts.
If a guide is unavailable, your tour will be unguided and the supplement will be refunded.
Bookings are only valid on the date, at the time and in the language stated in the Order confirmation sent by the Museum.
Visitors who are entitled to a reduced admission price must be able to show proof of eligibility at the entrance. Anyone who presents invalid proof of eligibility will be denied admission.
Under no circumstances will racist, sexist, homophobic or discriminatory language or conduct be tolerated during a tour. In the event of such language or conduct, the Museum reserves the right to end the tour early. No refund will be due, and legal action may be taken.
4.1. CANCELLING OR RESCHEDULING A GUIDED TOUR
If you wish to cancel or reschedule a guided tour, you must submit a written request to visit@redcrossmuseum.ch no later than seven working days before the scheduled date of the guided tour. If the Museum receives your request less than seven working days before the scheduled date, your guided tour cannot be changed and no refund will be issued.
The Museum makes every effort to guarantee the availability of guided tours. If a tour is cancelled by the Museum, a refund will be issued. However, you will not be entitled to a refund if the Museum has to cancel a booking in the event of force majeure.
4.2. REFUNDS FOR GUIDED TOURS
Refunds will be issued using the same means of payment initially used to make the purchase. No refunds will be issued by Museum reception staff.
5. DATA PROTECTION
The Museum collects and processes personal data in line with applicable law. The Museum safeguards customers’ data using appropriate technical and organizational methods and protects the confidentiality of such data.
6. PROCESSING FOR STATISTICAL PURPOSES
You consent to the Museum storing and processing your personal data for statistical purposes, in order to provide products and services that cater to market demand and to improve the user experience.
You have the right to object, at any time, to the processing of your personal data for statistical purposes. Such objection will have no effect on the lawfulness of data processing carried out during the period for which valid consent has been granted.
